Non-Profit Participation


The North Columbia Environmental Society is a membership driven non-profit organization which promotes conservation and sustainable living in the North Columbia region, their mission is to educate and enable individuals to prioritize the natural environment, and to advocate for its protection. They do this by providing the community with environmental education programs, events, workshops, and providing a voice to their membership’s environmental concerns. The NCES believes in collaborating to find positive solutions that will contribute to a healthy environment and community.



The Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society (CSISS) is a non profit organization working within the Columbia Shuswap region. CSISS is one of 13 regional groups across BC that aim to work work in cooperation with the Invasive Species Council of BC to inspire action, coordinate management and prevent the spread of invasive species within their jurisdictions. Our goals are to educate and engage public, private landowners, land and aquatic managers, first nations and others about invasive species and their impacts, and to establish and operate invasive species management programs within the region.

Revelstoke Bear Aware



The Revelstoke Bear Aware program strives to reduce human-bear conflict through education (from preschoolers to adults) and provide active management initiatives that help reduce both fruit and garbage as bear attractants in Revelstoke.
